Hola Everyone, Welcome To Our New Blog!!!

Are you a beginner looking forward to getting into cyber security? But confused about where to start. You’re at the right place, we are here with our Cyber Security Roadmap: Absolute Beginner Edition 2022.

Before we get in, I want you all to know that I don’t want any pre-requisite knowledge from you. We have made this blog for the absolute beginner to start his career in cyber security from the scratch. For your easy understanding of the concepts, I have divided this blog into 4 parts as mentioned below:

So, here’s Part – 1 of Cyber Security Roadmap: Absolute Beginner Edition 2022. Are you all ready, pals? Take a deep breath and let’s dive into cyber security.

Following the saying of Gordon B. Hinckley, we can’t just start hacking without having a clear and stronger foundation (i.e, basics). Hence, our first part is going to focus completely on the pre-requisite knowledge about cyber security.

And our pre-requisite knowledge to get into cyber security is categorized as,

    1. Computer Knowledge:

Basic computer knowledge is about how computers work and how to use them. This may include typing, learning keyboard commands, powering a computer on and off, and knowing how to connect and disconnect the Internet to a computer.

Basic computer knowledge can help you understand the different operating systems and application software.

For cyber security, the basic computer knowledge you should have are:

    • How do Computers Work?
    • BIOS (basic input/output system)
    • Booting ()
    • OS (operating system)
    • File System
    • 32/64 Bit System

    1. Networking:

Computer networking is nothing that refers to interconnected computing devices that can exchange data and share resources with each other. These networked devices use a system of rules, called communications protocols, to transmit information over physical or wireless technologies.

The basic knowledge to have in computer networking are:

    • Switch, HUB, Router, & Modem
    • Topology
    • LAN, MAN, & WAN
    • Protocols – TCP, UDP
    • IP – Ipv4, Ipv6
    • Subnetting
    • OSI, The 3-Way Handshake

    1. Programming Language:

A programming language is a computer language that is used by programmers (i.e, developers) to communicate with computers. In basics, there are three types of programming languages termed as:

For your ease of understanding, we recommend you some programming languages like:

    • HTML
    • PHP
    • Python
    • Javascript
    • Bash
    • Golang

    1. Virtualization:

Virtualization is the “creation of a virtual (rather than actual) version of something” such as a server, a desktop, a storage device, or an operating system.

In simple words, virtualization allows you to use a physical machine’s full capacity by distributing its capabilities among many users or environments.

    1. Cloud Technology:

Cloud security is a discipline of cyber security that is dedicated to securing cloud computing systems. This includes keeping data private and safe across online-based infrastructure, applications, and platforms.

In simple words, cloud computing is the delivery of computing services including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence over the Internet (i.e, the cloud) to offer faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale.

And there we have come to the end of the “Cyber Security Roadmap: Absolute Beginner Edition 2022 (Part-1)”, You can use this blog as a roadmap to attain the pre-requisite knowledge in cyber security.
